Why I Built This Calculator

At 20 years old, I was hospitalized with symptoms that doctors initially suspected might be cancer. After extensive testing, I was diagnosed with celiac disease — a condition I had unknowingly lived with for years.

The diagnosis was both a relief and a challenge. My body had been severely affected by gluten, and I struggled with significant weight loss and malnutrition. Understanding my body's recovery became crucial.

That's when I discovered the Body Roundness Index (BRI). Unlike traditional BMI, which didn't tell the full story of my health journey, BRI helped me track how my body composition changed as I gained healthy weight and recovered. It gave me insights that BMI alone couldn't provide.

I built this calculator to help others like me — people who need more than just a number on a scale. Whether you're recovering from illness, managing a chronic condition, or simply want to understand your body better, I hope this tool serves you well.
